HVAC TIPS FOR THE FALL
- Call to have your heating system serviced.
- Check, clean or replace your furnace filter. (some thermostats will remind you when to change your filter)
- Turn air dampers to the heating position.
- Turn on humidifier controls.
- Even though the weather is not cold yet; turn the heat on the make sure the furnace is ready. If not, now you have time to get repairs done before an emergency comes up.
HVAC TIPS FOR THE SPRING
- Call to have your cooling system serviced before the first heat wave.
- Check, clean or replace your furnace filter.
- Turn air dampers to the summer position
- Turn off the humidifier
- Clean the condensate drain if you are able.
- Take cover off the air conditioner and make sure area around unit is clear of debris.
HVAC TIPS FOR THE WINTER
- Check, clean or replace your furnace filter.
- Check your Carbon Monoxide detector.
- Check humidifier operation
- Check windows for air leaks.
- Homes with Water Boilers, Bleed your radiators. Steam Boilers, check water levels and blow down the heat exchanger and refill to proper levels.
- Make sure Heat Pumps are free of snow and ice.
HVAC TIPS FOR THE SUMMER
- Check, clean or replace your furnace filter.
- Utilize drapes and blinds on the hot days.
- AC systems are designed to cool 20 degrees less than the outdoor temperature.
- Cooling the home a few degrees’ cooler at night will help the home from getting too warm the next day.
